Hot Day in Paradise
Even after 5 PM yesterday there was still little room on the beaches and rocks at Thetis Lake. A whopping 26 degrees and cool waters kept visitors at the lake all day.
Patrols from park rangers and police were frequent. They were just there to keep peace and monitor the drinking and over the top behavior. It was reported there were a few minor incidences where some of the patrons were asked to leave the park but nothing too serious was to report. High temperatures are expected through out the next week so we can expect the beaches to remain busy. Just remember to party wisely as they are watching.
It was disappointing to see the number of bottles left in the lake from numerous float parties, as we were coming back into shore. It is a great way to have fun out on the waters but, it would be nice if people would take their garbage back to the waste deposit containers instead of the dropping them in the water. This is bad for the environment and the survival of the natural inhabitants as well as it looks tacky for those who come to enjoy the lake for what it has to offer.
