The Bald Eagle
One of North America’s most protected and admired species is the Bald Eagle. In some cases this species of bird has a wingspan expanding more than 6 ft. Bald eagles take up roost where there are large bodies of water surrounded by woody areas and prefer places with lakes that don’t freeze.
They prey upon other birds and small animals ( rodents, rabbits, reptiles … etc). In Victoria, because of the warm climate, we are lucky to occasionally see them at the tops of pine trees, keeping a watchful eye on the local rabbits. Unfortunately they have scared other bird inhabitants of Greater Victoria, away from breeding grounds forcing them to migrate to other parts of the island.
In this 130 piece puzzle the eagle is in captivity for show and has his own handler. He lives at the Vancouver Aquarium. You might want to take the tour of the Vancouver Aquarium
